Trek Coalition Marketing/Operations Summer Internship - Tafel Scholarship

About our Organization:
Trek Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to support in- country healthcare organizations by connecting people and technology. As a nonprofit Trek aims to improve the well- being of people in South American rural communities while building a sustainable organization to maximize impact. In addition to organizing mission trips to provide comprehensive care, we are developing an electronic health records system to unify the efforts of in- country healthcare organizations and to better understand the patient population leading to the deployment of more targeted interventions.

Internship Opportunity:
This role encompasses a 12-week, 20 hour/week summer internship which will help Trek Coalition with overall marketing, operations and business development. Specifically, this position will touch all aspects of the organization with a focus on three key areas:
1.    Marketing
  • Work with founders to curate content and build a social media plan to engage followers
  •  2 social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) posts/ week
  • Bimonthly email newsletters and updates to contact list
2.    Operations
  • Work with founders to help plan medical mission trips to South America
  • Buy plane tickets, organize accommodations, set up transportation for each trip
3.    Business Development
  • Reach out to similar organizations in South America to build partnerships for future trips
  • Help build and execute a strong fundraising plan
  • Represent Trek Coalition at conferences/events

Qualifications:
We are seeking an exceptional individual that has strong business acumen and willing to use that knowledge to help improve a social enterprise. We are looking for the following qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in progress
  • Interest/experience in working with a social enterprise
  • Strong quantitative focus with experience working on marketing campaigns
  • Strong communication skills as a lot of the work will be extracting information from the founders to build content
