Human Resource Consultant 3 - Recruiter

Please Note: This position may be place based at our HQ location in Olympia or at one of our 6 Region Offices in Tumwater, Vancouver, Shoreline, Wenatchee, Union Gap or Spokane, depending on the top candidates' preference.
 
The Opportunity:  
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is actively seeking 2 innovative recruiting professionals to join our dynamic Human Resources team on a non-permanent basis for 12 months. You will be working with a team that forms a strategic partnership with all business units within the agency and is key to the future success of future regional goals. You will be serving a valuable role to the public by directly assisting in building a successful workforce that is transforming the infrastructure of Washington State.

This position will perform the following work:

  • Work as a part of the Human Resources team to provide consultation, advice and training to employees, managers and executives regarding recruitment/employment processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Source prospective candidates in the realm of active and passive jobseekers using a variety of methods with a strong emphasis in social media.
  • Participate in projects to improve recruiting efforts and techniques.
  • Lead diverse regional outreach activities that promote WSDOT as an employer of choice.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and results.
  • Establish and maintain community relationships that will support our recruitment efforts.
 
An ideal candidate for this position will have:
  • A degree in a field of study closely related to Human Resources.
  • Prior experience in recruiting/talent acquisition.
  • Experience in effective sourcing.
  • Knowledge and practice of outreach programs.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proven relationship building skills to create and maintain business partnerships.
  • Compelling and persuasive presentation skills with the confidence to speak in front of large groups.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
