SPACEX | MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - LAUNCH VEHICLE INTEGRATION
MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (LAUNCH VEHICLE INTEGRATION) - 2ND SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute build and test procedures for the integration and test of flight hardware and ground support equipment
- Responsible for vehicle integration build flow and test concept of operations
- Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration into the launch vehicle
- Interface with engineers and technicians to advance to larger scale manufacturing and automation
- Develop and refine manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned to mature status
- Responsible for enabling day-to-day execution of the vehicle integration and test flow
- Manage work orders and driving nonconformances into actionable items and system improvements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/chemical/aerospace/ electrical engineering
- 2+ years of collegiate extracurricular engineering project experience, such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, Design Build Fly team, OR 2+ years of industry product design/development experience
****PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with build integration and testing of fluid and/or propulsion systems
- Experience with hardware test methodologies including pressure proof testing, leak checking and nondestructive evaluation (NDE)
- Experience with project management
- Master's degree in mechanical/chemical/aerospace engineering
- Experience writing test plans, procedures and providing go/no-go judgment
- Experience in a production environment within the aerospace industry
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This is a hands-on position that may require standing up to 4+ hours a day and working directly with the hardware on the floor. Applicants must be comfortable with stooping, bending, and standing
- Position may require long hours and weekend work
